Hebrews 12:2 (Amplified) "Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God."
Psalm 110:1 "THE LORD (God) says to my Lord (the Messiah), Sit at My right hand, until I make Your adversaries Your footstool."
This previous verse talks about us running the race that You have set before us. We are to get rid of all that hinders us and run with patient endurance. This is only possible as I keep my eyes on You. you are my Leader and the very source not only of my life, but also my faith in You.
You put the desire in me to want to believe. You will finish my faith to perfection as you slowly and patiently bring me to maturity. I am the prize that You endured the cross and shame for but also, You are the prize for me! I don't earn You by running the race, or even winning the race. I run to please You - to learn the lessons of faith and to be strengthened in my spirit. This brings much joy to both of us.
Thank you for being the Author and Perfector of my faith.
